Reading 4 Levels

Motivating Youth to Pursue Education

Parents - The 7 Learning Styles

There are various levels for reading, also taught under the Mastery Based approach. In the Mastery based approach, the levels don't correspond to grade levels. The student must master one concept before moving forward to a more advanced level, regardless of age. Reading is about results, same for spelling.

Multi-Sensory Learning

At Real World EDA, our students are taught from the Mastery Based Learning Approach rather than the  Grade Base Learning Approach. We also believe (EI) Emotional Intelligence and its 4 Components guarantees success, rather than (IQ) Intelligent Quotient, which does not guarantee success.

READING /SPELLING

The five components of reading:  (1) Phonological Awareness (2) Phonics and Decoding (3) Fluency (4) Vocabulary (5) Comprehension

Spelling:  There are seven Levels of Comprehensive Spelling

5 Year Old CEO, Smart Cookie Club

Mastery Learning places kid above their supposed grade level.  Our curriculum is designed to enhance and motivate our students towards a culturally politicized learning. Ask about our Kindergarten "Smart Cookie Club" Successful thinking habits are not shrouded in mystery and monopolized by a privileged few, although some people might prefer it that way. Successful thinking habits, like any other science-based subject, can be researched, studied, learned and implemented.

Four Year Old

Our 4 year old student, able to perform normal conversation at four years of age. Mastery Learning places kids above their supposed grade level as she is describing, not aware, the principles of "cluster" economic development.

Multi-Sensory Learning Continued

What is Multi-sensory Learning?

What is Multi-sensory Learning?

What is Multi-sensory Learning?

During the learning process, we ideally use three main pathways to learning:   visual, auditory and kinesthetic

We are wired to learn using the three pathways, and the strength of each modality is different for each person. Some people may be very strong visual learners, while others learn best auditorily or kinesthetically.

Visual Learning

What is Multi-sensory Learning?

What is Multi-sensory Learning?

  • watching as new spelling concepts are demonstrated with color-coded letter tiles
  • seeing the spelling words written down
  • looking at and reading the flashcards during review sessions

Auditory

What is Multi-sensory Learning?

Kinesthetic Learning

  • reviewing the flashcards orally
  • segmenting words aloud
  • saying the sounds of the phonograms as they are written down

Kinesthetic Learning

Spelling via multisensory instruction

Kinesthetic Learning

  • writing down dictated phonograms, phrases, and sentences
  • building new spelling words with the letter tiles
  • practicing spelling with the pointer finger on various surface

Spelling via multisensory instruction

Actively involving students in the spelling lessons through multisensory instruction speeds up the learning process.

The Pathways

Spelling via multisensory instruction

Spelling via multisensory instruction

When students are taught using all three pathways to the brain:  the visual, the auditory, and the kinesthetic, they learn even more than when they are taught only through their strongest pathway
