Project Compute (FIRST INNER CITY COMPUTER PROGRAM for YOUTH in SEATTLE) was approved by then Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent, Holly Miller, 1990. (See Seattle Times, article, dtd, Jan 26, 1992, by Constantine A. of the Seattle Times newspaper). Program later on in 1995, won the President's Service Award from the Clinton Administration as Rech Tech under the Seattle Parks and Recreation.
"It was a fantastic relationship having such a program in our school, which is an AT RISK Alternative High School. It provided the needed wisdom and opportunity for students to compete with other students statewide, in a competitive business/economic development environment. Every business owner should be familiar with economic development before starting a business, for business is only one element of economic development.

NESDA, our founding Nonprofit, Real World Economic Development Academy (RWEDA) is the entity responsible for the development of New Solutions Economic Development Authority (NSEDA)
To become affiliated with NSEDA in any capacity, one must successfully complete a 5 months (15 tests) course of Introduction to Economic Development, followed by a lifetime monthly, Economic Development learning, as long as students are in the organization. This assures the continued educational advantage of learning economic development strategies.
Real World Economic Development Academy has this as its premier guide. A $75 DONATION will provide the 5 months (15 tests) Introduction to Economic Development, and ONLY after completing a successful Introduction to Economic Development course from Real World EDA, are you able to enter into Phase 2 (NSEDA). 6months probation

After the Economic Development Summit, the Chamber convened with what was called a Blue Ribbon Panel. At the Blue Ribbon Panel discussion, it was decided to proceed to the application process with the Pew Foundation for Civic Change and Washington State University.
Carol and Mika, students, University of Washington and their involvement process with the East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce, regarding rural regional development and planning (CEDS). The East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce, through its partnership with the Horizons Program, sponsored by the Pew Foundation for Civic Change and Washington State University. From the Horizons Program, the community was able to establish the MARC (Mossyrock Area Recreation Committe) and MAAL (Mossyrock Area Action League) programs/organizations, for self-sustainment purposes. Make note, the East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce, established and conducted the County's Commissioner's Campaign debates as well as the County's Prosecutor Campaign debates during its tenure as Chamber.
Paul Stewart at conference to apply with the Northwest Area Foundation/Pew Foundation for Civic Change, along with Washington State University, to bring the Horizons Program to East Lewis County. Once The Chamber was approved for the program, to implement the Horizons Program, and the Regional Study Circles Program was implemented in East Lewis County at Mossyrock and Silver Creek and from that, the East Lewis County Regional Chamber was able to implement initially, the Blueberry Festival, under the direction of Director, Paul Stewart, East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce through its (CEDS) Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy.
The Alliance for Education and Seattle Public Schools announced that South Lake High School Principal Barbara Moore is the recipient of the 2014 Thomas B. Foster Award for Excellence.
Moore received the award at a school
assembly last Friday. As a result of winning the award, South Lake High School, which is an alternative high school serving some of the city’s most at-risk students, will receive a $50,000 cash grant.

Our East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce covered all school participants in not only East Lewis County, but a few of Lewis County as a whole, to include, White Pass School District, Morton School District, Onalaska School District, Centralia College.
The East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce also created the Meth Awareness Program in conjunction with the Mossyrock School District, County Sheriff and Washington state Attorney General McKenna.
The East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce was on the original County Meth Task Force Policy formulation team, guided by Sheriff Mansfield.

MAJOR TOURIST EVENT
Even the wet weather couldn't dampen Paul Stewart's spirit when more than 90 vintage cars sputtered though Packwood earlier this month.
"It went great even with all the rain, and that I caught the flu that night," Stewart said.
Packwood was the last pit stop for the Great Race, (brought to the community by the East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce) a cross-country trek of antique cars, sponsored by the Army National Guard, that began in Washington, D.C., and ended in Tacoma.

Paul Stewart completed a four hour training to teach the public about the dangers that methamphetamine brings to a community and the prevention strategies to help reduce the use and manufacture of the drug and how it affects Economic Development in your community. As the Director of the East Lewis County Regional Chamber of Commerce, his Chamber was the only Chamber of the County to participate. Therefore is on the Original Lewis County Meth Task Force as an administrator of its initial start-up.
